I have a confession to make . I have sinned before the presence of God…. I went around telling others “ God will not give you something you cannot handle “ and it was a lie…….something I heard from pastors and other Christian’s in my life . But that was not the truth or at least God’s truth. That truth belongs to satan himself. See this is just another tactic that satan uses to manipulate us into thinking “ if God doesn’t give us something we can’t handle then why am I praying and nothing is happening. Why isn’t God helping me ?
And in that split moment you have allowed satan to do exactly what he set out to do “ steal your faith “
He tried to convince you that God is not real just like he did to Adam and Eve. He convinced them that God was a liar and they could eat from the tree and for just a split second they turned their faith away from God .
See the truth is God does allow us to go through temptation. He allows us to go through heartaches no one said following God was going to be pain or problem free.
Now through Paul God reminds us that even though we go through trails and tribulations he won’t give us more then we can bear. Because while in the storm he is with us and he also made the promise that he will NEVER leave us nor forsake us.
In 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV) Paul does say God “will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
God never said he won’t give us what we cannot handle. He said I will be there to help you carry the weight of the problem when you no longer have the strength to bear.
See when we are weak in our own abilities God therefore can take over and carry our burdens. When we try to carry them ourselves he cannot help us because we don’t make space for him to step in.
So we begin to shout in pain and heart aches “ God where are you “ I can’t handle this anymore. And God is saying I’m here my beloved if you could just let go and let me carry it for you eventually you’ll make it to the end.
Mathew 11 : 28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
